Youtube has company

These sites have been around for a few years now and are rip offs of the youtube platform, but unlike youtube they do not care about copyright, these sites are coming from china and from behind that red curtain or socialist capitalism come websites that will host full films and tv shows mainly in english.

the main three i have found are.

tudou.com

a useful website for ripping down the vids is clipnabber.com or kisstudou.com which is focused on the chinese website of the simular name.

There was a large panic amoung some youtubers about a year ago when for a time www.livevideo.com came to fame, I myself set up an account but the views for videos is dismal, as the time the chatter was that livevideo would take on the big guns youtube, they have some nice features and the sound is ment to be better quality, i myself did not notice any difference. but since that time the hub bub has died and so has the danger from livevideo. I only recently discovered that the site streams soft porn, this may be one of the reasons why viewer number of videos are down as the clients to the site are there to see live strip shows etc, but livevideo could also be suffering because big names would not want to get associated with smut, sexual suggestion is fine but all out smut frightens away investors and big companies, youtube has kept its content smut free as much as is possible and closes accounts of offenders, which i thing is a good thing as it keeps the site from getting swamped with endless porno clips.
There are numerous video hosting sites but youtube is still No. 1. but the amount of user content vids has fallen in recent times, some people are not vlogging as much as they use to, it could be a shift in trend or I need new subscriptions.

A great site i came across some months ago is forumw.org which hosts the codes for downloading from rapid, its very useful and worth checking out, its were i got my hands on Broken Sword 2.

Life streaming

The latest craze on the web is real life big brother and the newest one i have come across is justin.tv every aspect of his life is streamed on the web. so check out www.justin.tv to see if his life is as boring as yours.

Star wars Revalations

I came across this site about 16 months ago. Even if you are not a star wars fan you will appreciate the effort that these guys have gone to. On the site you can download a movie that they have made, it about 47 minutes in length. This is not a homemovie with the family cat staring as jabba the hut, far from it. For a movie that was made by fans this will blow you away. the effects are amazing, ok the acting is a bit iffy at times but it does not take away from it. The story fits in well with the existing starwars movies and does not conflict. You can download the movie, sound track, posters etc for free at the following link.

Two cool web sites I have come across on my travels are second life and Hitler cats, now I have not had much time to explore second life, but I may come back and give it a proper review in the near future. The concept of the web site is simular to that of the SIMS games. You create a person in a 3d world and you can meet other people, go different places. you have to down load some software and there is a free access account, but if you want to build or buy property in the game you have to set up a premium account which will cost you.

Another great site is cats that look like hitler, man its freaky and well worth checking out, if you have a world dominating cat you can post its pics on there.
